The Emmys 2015

I must admit that this year the Emmys didn't let me down at all.
The guests' outfits were so on point and amazing that I almost didn't know which were my favourites!
The Emmys are considered the Oscars of the Tv, so the pressure for the perfect dress is really high!
Let's start with one of the highlights of the night.. the man bun of Peter Dinklage.. Ahhh so many Harry-manbun-Styles feelings!! ahah

Jaimie Alexander wore a multicoloured and sparkling long-sleveed gown by Armani Privè Haute Couture.
She was accompanied by her beau Peter Facinelli who was wearing a shirt, bow tie and tuxedo by Armani. They also shared a sweet kiss on the red carpet! Aww

The "Modern Family" stars Ariel Winter and Sarah Hyland both rocked two great outfits. Ariel chose a red piece from Romona Keveza matching it with Anne Sisteron Jewelry and Jerome C. Rosseau heels.
Sarah wore an amazing and elegant burgundy gown by Zac Posen.

Taraji P. Henson rocked a sexy see through black custom Alexander Wang gown. Damn, she was hot!

"The Last Man on Earth" actress Kristen Schaal opted for a shimmering blue and black gown by Rubin Singer matching it with Irene Neuwirth jewels.
Parks and Recreation's actress, Aubrey Plaza, instead, chose a classic but really effective black dress by Alexander Vauthier. The only accessory to complete the outfit was a smile! Smile Aubrey!

Heidi Klum broke the rule and tried some bright colour! She rocked a bright yellow Versace dress and she was stunning! Also Mindy Kaling tried some colour for the event and she chose a mustard yellow dress by Salvador Perez with Edie Parker clutch and Neil Lane jewels.
Also Padma Lakshmi and Taylor Schilling chose the yellow! Padma wore a long Romono Keveza gown and Taylor chose a Stella McCartney dress and clutch matched with Niwaka jewels and Stuart Weitzman shoes.

Kiernan Shipka, instead opted for a touch of yellow in her Dior Couture ensemble with Dana Rebecca Design jewelry and Christian Louboutin heels.

Laura Prepon chose a red piece of the collection of Christian Siriano matching with L.K. Bennet shoes.

Julie Bowen opted for a black piece of George Chakra Couture and it's so elegant! She wore it with Brian Atwood shoes and Monica Vinader earrings.

Lady Gaga surprised me with two stunning and super elegant outfits. She wore this amazing white dress by Brandon Maxwell with Brian Atwood shoes and later she rocked another Brandon Maxwell piece but in black. She was simply WOW! She was one of the best dressed!

Viola Davis, for her acceptance speech for the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series, wore a white and black Carmen Marco Valvo gown with Neil Lane jewelry and Stuart Weitzman shoes.

Amanda Peet chose a Michael Kors dress with a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

Lena Headey wore one of the best outfit of the night. She rocked a Zuhair Murad Couture dress with Harry Kotler Platinum Diamond jewelry and Jimmy Choo heels.

Morena Baccarin chose a bright red Reem Acra dress with a Tyler Alexandra clutch, Harry Kotler diamond earrings, Jacob & Co bracelets and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore my favourite outfit of the event: this amazing but super simple blue and purple Oscar De la Renta dress with Fred Leighton jewels, Ferragamo clutch and Charlotte Olympia heels.

Julienne Hough chose a Marchesa gown matched with Neil Lane jewelry and Jimmy Choo clutch and shoes.

Naomi Watts supported her husband Liev Schreiber, wearing a Christian Dior dress with Bally bag. Jimmy Choo shoes and Bulgary jewelry. Liev, instead sported a Calvin Klein Collection suit.

"Black Orphan" star, Tatiana Maslany, chose a pure white Bouchra Jarrar Couture suit with Fred Leighton jewelry, Sophia Webster shoes and Amanda Pearl clutch.

"Game of Thrones" actresses Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams chose two different types of outfits but both extremely nice. Sophie chose a blue and black Galvan jumpsuit with Jimmy Choo bag and Giuseppe Zanotti heels, Maisie, instead chose a pink quilted midi dress by Ermanno Scervino with fluffy pink sandals and Kwait jewelry.

January Jones wore an emerald Ulyana Sergeenko jumpsuit with Tiffany & Co. jewelry and Stuart Weitzman shoes. In my opinion she was stunning with that jumpsuit!

Christina Hendricks was a bomb of sensuality with her sparkling Naeem Khan dress, Bionda Castana shoes, Loren Stewart rings, Maxior earrings and Charlotte Olympia heels.

Emma Roberts wore a Jenny Packham gown wuth a Lee Savage clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Martin Katz jewelry.

Kerry Washington rocked a  metallic Marc Jacobs dress with Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, Casadei shoes and amazing Harry Winston jewelry.

Sofia Vergara wore a silver St. John gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Jimmy Choo bag and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

"Jane the Virgin" star, Gina Rodriguez opted for a feather white Lorena Sarbu gown which she matched with Judith Leiber clutch, Stuart Weitzman shoes and Forevermark jewels.

Besides all the stunnig dresses, this time there was something more. Viola Davis aka Annalise Keating from How to get Away with Murder was the first woman of colour to win the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series. Her speech was great, so inspiring!

I thinks it's beautiful that women in general and more in specific black women are being recognize for their talents. It's about time!!!
Moreover, on the red carpet was trending the hashtag #askhermore, where journalists were supposed to ask to women more about their careers, their projects, what they think about something instead of the classic question "what are you wearing tonight?". I mean, it's fashion and it's always nice hear something about it but fortunately there's more we can hear from women!

That's all for now

London, baby!

I just got back home from my mini trip to London. I left on Saturday to visit one of my best friend who is living there.
Me and my friend L decided to seize the opportunity and go and say hi! Who would refuse a trip to one of the greatest metropolis of the world?
We were really lucky because when we arrived London was beautiful and sunny. Fortunately our hotel was in a perfect location, just in front of the London Eye!

We had a stroll around Westminster and I think that this is one of the most beautiful places in the city. So majestic, elegant and royal. I still remember the first time I saw the Big Ben.. I was getting outside the tube's station thinking that it would have take a couple of minutes to get to Westminster and there it was! Right in front of me! I was so overwhelmed by the immensity of the Big Ben. Amazing!

For lunch our friend R suggested Five Guys, which is an american burger and hot dogs restaurant chain where you can "build" your own meal. For me, as an italian, it was so unusual! It was sooooo good! A hit for my poor heart.. I mean, it's so unhealthy, but once in a while it's ok concede to yourself this kind of guilty pleasure.
I tried a lot of new things that are so rare, difficult or impossible to find in Italy. Let's talk about the new London trend: bubble tea, which is basically flavoured fruit tea with some chewy tapioca bubble. I went to Bubbleology and I had a mango and lychee tea which was so refreshing but I have to admit that the tapioca bubbles didn't excited me much.

While I was strolling through Soho, I literally bumped into Bleach, which is the salon of famous english hairdresser Lou Teasdale!

For dinner we tried some thai food at Banana Tree and I chose a vegetarian noodles dish with some fried tau fu. OMG it was so spicy!! In general I eat a lot of spicy food so I'm used to it but this time it was too much! My mouth was on fire!!!

The next day was reserved for shopping!! After that shopping session in Oxford Street my credit card was crying!! ahah
I rested my tired arms at Selfriges looking at things that I can't afford. Meh!
However I didn't give up and I cuddle myself with some cupcakes at Lola's. Some friends of mine told me that those were the best cupcakes in the city but actually I was a little bit disappointed.. Good but not so special!

In the evening we were in Brick Lane and  we opted for some Wagamama and it was the first time I tried it. I ordered some chicken curry with some rice and it was good!

After dinner we decided to go for a few drinks to Callooh Callay in Shoreditch. I was surprised when I came inside because it was an ordinary pub but when I passed a wardrobe (yes! a wardrobe!), I fund myself in this eccentric and mysterious living room with strange chairs. The menu came in an old audio cassette (great idea!) and I had the drink "To coin a fraise". It was so delicious and the bartender was so nice with us!

The next day we strolled to Buckingham Palace for a greeting to Liz, ehm, I mean the Queen! (ahah I know my humor is so lame! Sorry).

Then we went to see the Tower Bridge, which, in my opinion is an underrated zone of the city. I loved it! And yes, I took far too many photos there, but what can I say? I was inspired! ahah

In the afternoon we went to Kings Cross to have some proper english tea at Drink, Shop & Do. OMG their cakes were huge!!!!! Me and L enjoyed our tea time with tea and cake as old ladies we are. ahah
I opted for some mint tea and vanilla and chocolate cake.

In the evening we went with R out for some drinks at The Alchemist near Liverpool Street. WOW! It was so classy and nice. We tried some molecolar drinks and they looked strange but they tasted good! I chose some  molecolar Strawberry Bellini and then a Raspberry and White Chocolate molecolar drink with a looooot of cream on top! YUM!

And here we are at the last day... ultimate rush for shopping at Covent Garden and then home!

I really enjoyed this trip because I really, really, really needed some time away from home.
It was relaxing for my mind but exhausting for my body.. We walked a looooot!!

I hope to come back again to London because it's one of my favourite places in the world! There's this special atmosphere that makes you believe that everything is possible there! But the most important thing is that London is so open minded about everything which is something that other countries should work on it.
