Haute Couture's Season

From fashion men to fashion women and haute couture! Haute Couture is like living a dream made of velvet, sparks, silk  and a lot of refined fabrics used to create artworks to wear.

Alberta Ferretti's collection was quite classic and basic. I like the fact that she made fashion a classic cashmere sweater and a pair of trousers with sparkly details or a long and plain skirt. The main colours used were black, red and white using silk, cashmere, sequin and lace. The collection goes from cozy to super sexy with see-through sensual lace dresses.

I love the vibe of Ralph & Russo's collection, super glamour and elegant with all the short bob wigs.
The collection is studded of pearls, ruches, feathers, little embroideries made of sequin and beads in order to create a magic sensation. This collection reminds me of a young Cleopatra of our time with super glamourous dresses made just for her.

Christian Dior brought to the catwalk a magical garden with creatures wearing magical dresses.
The dresses, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, are sprinkled by litle silk flowers on sheer and lace fabrics. The collection is create on a very light and soft line with layers of organdy, sheer, taffeta and silk.

Chanel opted for a classic collection like always but reinvented it with some innovative details. Tweet, cuts and styles remained the same but the innovation lays in the 50's inspiration with high belts to tighten the waist, lace to make a simple top something more elegant or sensual, feather at the end of a sequin dress to give that 30's inspiration. This collection mainted the classic vibe of Coco with influence from the most important fashion lines from others decades.

Armani Privè got inspirations from the late sunset and its colours. In fact the main colours of the collection are orange, pale orange and yellow, brown, black and hibts of red.
The collection is super traditional and studded with classic taylor cuts. Armani sees a woman who is incredibly chic both in a jacket and trousers or in a long dress of silk or adorned with feathers. The jackets are very detailed and well-finished made of the most fine brocade

Alexandre Vauthier create a slightly different collection from his past ones. This collection, in my opinion, quite reminds me the inspirations of Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent. The collection is made of blocks of colours like red, blue, black, white and silver and they are organized in geometrical shapes like squares or stripes. Sequins, tweed and organza are in contrast with softer fabrics like velvet, silk and feathers. Big volumes, see-through sheer and polka dots lace are a must of the collection.

Elie Saab opted for gold, silver, baby blue and pink or the deepest mavy blue for his collection. The colours are not strong except for some numbers that stand out from the others.
The dresses are made in the most delicate and light shades of the colours, all adorned by precious embroideries of flowers or special mandalas. The must have of the collection are embellished sheers, cute tiny belts and headbands. In my opinion the inspiration for the collection came from the 50's fashion and the middle eastern luxury fashion.

Zuhair Murad's inspirations came from a revisited 80's Barbie. The collection was created around lots of ruffle flounces, bows, big shoulder pads and amazinf crystal applications.
Some dresses have the pattern of fireworks on the fabrics both printed or embroidered. This collection reminds me my Barbie Jewel'n' Dazzle and it's definitely not a bad thing! ahah

Dolce & Gabbana continues on their winning line, getting inspiration from the 50's south italian fashion. However this collection was influenced by the old Russia, China and France, bringing other new features to their collection. Brocade, sequin, tapestry prints, big hair accessories, fur and crowns are the main features of this eclectic and amazing collection. I really like how D&G had characterized their style recently, because now their styles is so recognizable!

What do you think about this haute couture season? I have to say that I was a little bit disappointed by my favourite like Giambattista Valli and Alexis Mabille.. I felt like they were not at their best.

That's all for now

Talk to you later
