Met Gala 2018

One of the most important event of the year is here!!
The MET Gala this year has a very interesting theme for its guests: Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imaginatio, which celebrates the opening of the same name exhibition.

The Gala is hosted by Rihanna, Donatella Versace, Anna Wintour and Amal Clooney.
I think this theme is very interesting and celebrities can have a wide choice but let's see what they decided to wear on the red carpet.. or better on the red stairs of the Met!

Amanda Seyfried opted for a yellow gown by Prada with H. Stern jewelry.

Hailee Steinfeld chose to wear a white dress by Prabal Gurung and Jimmy Choo shoes.
All the outfit is very simple but I looooove it!

SZA wore a baby pink gown by Versace and she looks like a princess!

Taylor Hill wore a black and red Diane von Furstenberg dress (inspired by catholic cardinal dress) with Christian Louboutin shoes and Jacob & Co. jewelry.

Stella Maxwell chose a Moschino dress with David Yurman jewelry and Casadei shoes.

Cara Delevingne wore black web dress by Dior which reminds the confessionals of catholic churches.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was inspired by the many paintings of saints and decided to wear a dress by Ralph Lauren with an headpiece which reminded a halo.

Rita Ora opted for a black Prada gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She was stunning!

Ariana Grande wore a Vera Wang dress with Michalangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling printed all over the fabric.

Olivia Munn wore an amazing gold H&M Consciuous Collection gown with Christian Louboutin shoes,Jimmy Choo clutch, Michael Schmidt headpiece and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

All these looks were amazing and more or less in theme but now let's pass to my favourite oufits of the night.

Zendaya channelled her inner Joan of Arc with a chain dress by Versace with Tiffany & Co jewellery.
She was just a big YES!

Diane Kruger opted for a celestial custom baby blue dress with a long train by Prabal Gurung  with custom Gianvito Rossi shoes, Jimmy Choo cluthc, Tasaki jewelry and custom Philip Treacy headpiece.

Priyanka Chopra wore a boudeaux velvet dress by Ralph Lauren with an intricate gold beaded hood

Lily Collins chose a black dress by Givenchy with a Clare Waight Keller crown and Cartier jewelry.
She's amazing in this look!

Blake Lively wore a bordeaux custom made Versace gown with custom Judith Lieber bag, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and custom Christian Louboutin shoes.
Blake wore a custom made halo with over 100 carats of nude champagne diamonds, a pair of 30 carat Colombian emerald and diamond earrings set in 18 karat gold, an armful of gold bracelets, 3 diamond and ruby rings, all worth more than $2 million. Opulence anyone?

Kate Bosworth literally nailed the them of the night. She is breath-taking in her outfit and the look is spectacular. She opted for an Oscar de la Renta gown with Tacori jewelry, Manolo Blahnik shoes and  a Jeffrey Levinson clutch.
She wore a crinkled gold foil-painted spiral draped tulle gown and a zardosi embroidered crystal star and a teardrop mother-of-pearl headpiece. (from Oscar de la Renta's instagram profile)

Another celebrity who nailed the theme was Rihanna, who wore a Maison Margiela dress (someone said pope?) with Gilan and Narcisa Pheres rings, Maria Tash earrings and a Judith Leiber clutch.

But the winners of the night were Lana del Rey and Jared Leto in Gucci.
They were this theme and this theme was them.
Lana wore a silk cady and lace gown inspired by "Our lady of sorrows". The bodice features the "seven sorrows of Mary" with the initials LDR on the sacred heart. The skirt feaures hand stitched gold metal and colored silk thread embroidery inspired by baroque and floral motifs and daggers with pleaed tulle and lace underskirt. completing the look is a handmade headpiece with painted feathers and crystal halo and handmade antique glass stick representing the eyes of Saint Lucy. Jared Leto opted for a custom silk moiré one button jacket with a velvet oversized lapel embroidered with three eyed golden angels, silk trousers, silk shirt with bow, embroidered liturgical stole and black leather Horsebit boots, he completed his look with an aged gold metal crown and two tiger head brooches in aged gold metal, enamels and crystals.  What do you think of this year's Met Gala? Who was your favourite? Did you like the theme of the night?

That's all for now

Talk to you soon
